Features
Everything anymail does to keep your inbox — and your whole company's — under control.
Automatic categorization
The moment an email lands, anymail reads it and files it into a clear, colored label right inside Gmail — ranked by what needs you first. No rules to write, no folders to maintain. It learns from your corrections, so it keeps getting sharper about how you like your inbox sorted.
- Colored labels applied inside Gmail
- Ranked by urgency
- Learns from your corrections
- Move quiet categories out of the inbox automatically
One-click unsubscribe
anymail spots the newsletters and bulk lists cluttering your inbox and lets you leave them in a single click. When a sender supports one-click unsubscribe, it's fully automatic; when it doesn't, you get a direct link. Then anymail offers to sweep the old mail from those senders into Trash — you choose which to keep.
- Detects List-Unsubscribe on every sender
- Automatic where supported, direct link where not
- Bulk-select and leave many at once
- Optional cleanup of old mail to Trash
Status + sticky topics
Every email gets one status — the workflow state: To respond, To follow up, FYI, Newsletters, Marketing, Junk — that decides where it sits. On top go topics: what the mail is about (Invoice, Contract, Deadline…). Topics are sticky: an invoice thread stays tagged Invoice even as its status flips from To respond to FYI and back. To respond is thread-aware — it clears itself once your genuine reply is the latest message, and an out-of-office auto-reply doesn't count.
- One clear status per mail
- Many sticky topic tags
- To respond clears when you actually reply
- Vacation autoresponders don't fool it
Your labels, your way
Describe a label the way you'd explain it to an assistant — “anything about the MKW company”, “an invoice to pay” — and anymail tags matching mail by meaning. Add a hard condition too (from a domain, an address, or a subject) for a guaranteed match. Pick ready-made topics from the library, or create your own; anymail turns your rough intent into a clean rule you approve.
- Match by meaning, by hard condition, or both
- e.g. everything from orlen.pl → Orlen
- Ready-made topic library + your own
- Multiple labels per email, each its own color
It learns how you triage
Rate a label Good or Wrong, leave a one-line note, or just move a mail to another status. anymail folds your feedback into how it sorts that mailbox next time — per account, without any fine-tuning. Tune labels, build your own profiles, and it keeps adapting to your judgment (and, for drafts, your tone).
- Thumbs + comments on any classification
- Corrections teach the classifier
- Learns per account
- Adapts to your judgment and tone
Rules & always-important senders
Force a sender, domain or subject to a category, or mark it important so it's never buried in marketing. Important mail is starred in Gmail automatically — so when your CEO writes, it's always at the top.
- Match by sender, domain or subject
- Override the classifier
- Auto-star important mail
- Per-mailbox rules
Replies in your voice
anymail drafts tone-matched replies from your past conversations and leaves them waiting for your review. You edit, approve, or discard — anymail never sends anything on your behalf.
- Learns your tone
- Drafts wait for your approval
- Never auto-sends
- Works inside Gmail
